Smart Black Carbon Street Light SBC-SL project is a solution for smart prediction of air pollution for traffic control. This will allow planners and managers of urban transport infrastructure to review, evaluate the efficiency, and to on-line adjust measures based on the forecast of exceeded Black Carbon (BC) air concentrations in certain parts of the city.
A model acquiring measurements of BC concentrations and a detailed micrometeorological situation in the city or part of the city will be implemented in the final product.
The developed solution will act as a platform for smart cities, which will enable the measurement, monitoring, analysis, and forecast of air quality in cities, changing and adapting measures and areas of traffic restrictions, and monitoring the effectiveness of such measures.
According to available information, this is the first such product on the market, and at the same time, we have already demonstrated the effectiveness of such type of measures.
The final solution of this project is radically new and represents a leap in the paradigm of dealing with abundance in medium and large-sized cities. In addition to the European market, in which we intend to present the solution first, the final application of this project is also applicable worldwide.
This project is co-funded by the Republic of Slovenia and the European Union – European Regional Development Fund.
